These Terms and Conditions govern the relationship between Safarisway (referred to as “the Company,” “we,” or “us”), a specialized East Africa tour operator, and its clients (referred to as “you” or “the client”). By booking or participating in our tours, you agree to these Terms and Conditions. Please read them carefully before making a reservation.
Safarisway is a leading East Africa tour operator specializing in tailor-made travel experiences across Ethiopia and the Horn of Africa. The Company is formed through the collaboration of Aman Ethiopia Tours, Lucy Ethiopia Tours, and Amanuela Digital Marketing, blending decades of authentic, on-the-ground tourism expertise with modern, global-standard client experience. We specialize in tailor-made private tours, group travel, corporate/MICE arrangements, and cross-border itineraries throughout East Africa.
All bookings are subject to availability and will only be confirmed upon receipt of a deposit or full payment, as applicable. A booking is not confirmed until the Company issues a written confirmation, either by email or another form of communication. Clients may request a provisional booking, but this will not be considered a confirmed booking until a deposit is received. By confirming a booking, you agree to these Terms and Conditions and the payment terms outlined.
To secure your booking, a deposit of 30% of the total tour cost is required at the time of booking. The remaining balance must be paid no later than 15 days before the tour start date. For bookings made within 15 days of the tour, full payment is required immediately to confirm the reservation. Failure to make the full payment on time may result in the cancellation of your booking. Payment can be made via bank transfer, credit card, or other methods as agreed upon by the Company.
Tour prices are based on current exchange rates, fuel prices, and service costs in the East African region at the time of booking. The Company reserves the right to adjust prices to reflect any significant changes in these factors. Once a booking is confirmed and paid in full, the price is guaranteed. Any price changes after the booking confirmation will not affect confirmed bookings.
For cancellations, the Company’s Cancellation and Booking Policy applies as follows:
30 days or more before the tour start date: Refund of 80% of the total tour cost.
Between 15 and 29 days before the tour start date: Refund of 50% of the total tour cost.
7 to 14 days before the tour start date: Refund of 25% of the total tour cost.
Less than 7 days before the tour start date: No refund will be given.
Note: Certain prepaid services such as flights, specific high-end hotels, and government permits may not be refundable, as these are subject to third-party or governmental terms.
The Company reserves the right to modify itineraries, accommodations, or services due to unforeseen circumstances such as adverse weather, natural disasters, political instability, border restrictions, or supplier availability across the East African region. If modifications occur, equivalent alternatives will be provided to maintain the quality and integrity of the experience. The Company will not be held responsible for any inconvenience caused by changes to the itinerary.
It is the client’s sole responsibility to ensure that all necessary travel documents, including passports, visas, and required health certificates/vaccinations (especially for cross-border travel in the Horn of Africa), are in order and valid for the entire duration of the tour. The Company will not be held liable for any issues arising from incomplete or invalid documentation. Any delays or cancellations resulting from document issues will not entitle the client to a refund.
Clients are required to inform the Company of any medical conditions, dietary restrictions, or disabilities that may affect their participation in the tour. The Company will make reasonable adjustments where possible, but participation in certain activities (e.g., trekking, specific safaris) may require a minimum level of fitness. The Company reserves the right to refuse service to any individual deemed unfit for certain activities to ensure their safety and that of the group.
While the Company takes all reasonable steps to ensure the safety and comfort of clients and uses strong regional supplier networks, we act as agents for third-party service providers such as airlines, hotels, and transport companies. The Company is not liable for any acts or omissions of these providers. Clients are strongly advised to purchase comprehensive travel insurance that includes coverage for medical emergencies, evacuation, cancellations, and loss of belongings, particularly given the nature of travel in East Africa.
Clients are expected to behave respectfully toward fellow travelers, guides, local communities, and other personnel during the tour. Any behavior deemed disruptive, abusive, or harmful to others or local cultural norms may result in immediate removal from the tour without refund. Clients are responsible for their actions and will bear any costs associated with their behavior, including any damage caused to property.
The Company is not liable for delays, cancellations, or disruptions caused by events beyond our control, including but not limited to natural disasters, pandemics, government actions, civil unrest, strikes, or any other force majeure event. In such cases, the Company will make reasonable efforts to provide alternative arrangements, but no refunds will be issued for cancellations due to force majeure, as costs for confirmed services may have already been incurred regionally.
Any complaints or issues during the tour should be immediately reported to the Company or your certified guide for resolution. If the complaint is not resolved on the spot, clients must submit a written complaint within 14 days of the tour’s conclusion. The Company will address complaints fairly and in a timely manner, in accordance with applicable local laws.
All content, including text, images, logos, and designs, on the Company’s website and marketing materials, is the intellectual property of Safarisway and may not be reproduced, distributed, or used for any purpose without prior written consent.
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia. Any disputes related to these Terms and Conditions will be resolved in the courts of Ethiopia.
The Company reserves the right to modify or update these Terms and Conditions at any time. Any changes will be posted on our website, and it is the client’s responsibility to review the terms before making a booking.
