Start the day with a boat trip on Lake Chamo, where you can observe crocodiles basking along the shore, spot hippos, and enjoy birdwatching. Then visit Dorze village, perched in the Gughe Mountains, where locals live in UNESCO-recognized beehive-shaped huts. After returning to Arba Minch for lunch, continue the drive to Konso, a village known for its ancient terracing and vibrant cultural traditions. Overnight in Konso.
Following breakfast, explore Konso village and learn about its unique terracing methods, traditional crafts, and some of Ethiopia’s finest coffee. Proceed to Bana village, where men often style their hair with colorful clay caps decorated with feathers. Begin the day with an excursion to Mago National Park to visit the Mursi village, home to one of Ethiopia’s most distinctive ethnic groups. The Mursi live in low straw huts, and women are known for their traditional terra-cotta lip plates and ear adornments. After exploring the village and interacting with the community, return to Jinka for lunch before starting the drive back to Addis Ababa, concluding your six-day journey through the Omo Valley.
